Blog: Both diamond sports moved to Sunday and Monday; Softball relocated

Due to unplayable conditions at Diana Marks Field at Whitworth University, this weekend's Lewis & Clark softball series has been moved to Portland. The games will be played Sunday and Monday at the Huston Sports Complex with both day's doubleheaders beginning at noon.

The series was originally supposed to be played in late February in Spokane, Wash., but snow made the field unplayable. 

Lewis & Clark won its first game last weekend at Puget Sound. Whitworth is 12-4 this season.

The Lewis & Clark softball doubleheader with Puget Sound that was postponed on Saturday has been rescheduled for Mar. 28 in Tacoma, Wash. The games will start at 1 and 3 p.m.

The originally-scheduled game that the Pioneers had with Lower Columbia College has been cancelled.



Update: Mar. 16, 2:32 p.m.

PALATINE HILL -- Because of concerns over weather on Saturday, this weekend's Lewis & Clark baseball series at Linfield has been moved to a day later. The first doubleheader will be played beginning at noon on Sunday in McMinnville, Ore., followed by another doubleheader on Monday starting at 3 p.m.

The first three games of the series will count toward the Northwest Conference record, while the fourth is a makeup from a postponed non-conference game to begin the year.

Update: Mar. 13, 2:54 p.m.

Lewis & Clark's series with Puget Sound that was originally scheduled for Mar. 4 has been postponed further. The teams had a make-up date set for Tuesday, but that was changed on Monday afternoon.

Lewis & Clark is 3-4 to start Northwest Conference play and defeated Puget Sound, 7-3, when the teams were able to play one game on Mar. 5.

Details of a new date will be announced as soon as possible.

The final two games of Lewis & Clark's Northwest Conference series with Puget Sound will be played on Mar. 14 beginning at noon.

The teams were originally to play a doubleheader on Mar. 4, but poor field conditions at the Huston Sports Complex and bad weather forced the games to be postponed. In what was supposed to be the third game of the series on Mar. 5 was played, with Lewis & Clark winning 7-3. 

Updates will be posted if anything changes.
