Pioneers get shut out by the Loggers

Portland, Ore. -- The Lewis & Clark Pioneers were defeated in their fourth conference game this season against the Puget Sound Loggers. The Pioneers stay winless in their conference play.

The Loggers controlled the game offensively throughout the entire game. The Pioneers struggled to defend against the Loggers. Lewis & Clark did have several offensive opportunities that were not executed on. The Pioneers were shut out by the Loggers ending the game, 2-0.

Key Moments

At the fifth minute of the first period the Pioneers' Caroline Hennes tried to lead offensively with an unsuccessful shot on goal which was quickly followed by a goal for the Loggers. The Pioneers then only had one more shot attempt for the period which was again quickly followed by another goal for the Loggers. This ended period one, 2-0. 

In period two, Courtney Schmidt tried to get the Pioneers rolling offensively with a missed shot at the fifty-third minute. The Pioneers continued to try to gain control offensively throughout the game. The Loggers' goalie, Jamie Lange, led the shut out of the Pioneers protecting the goal early within the period.
